Adam Cates 

Adam Cates is a songwriting worshiper from Norfolk, Virginia. Whether writing from his piano or guitar, Adam's songs offer depth and insight into the mysterious and profound connection between humanity and divinity. Adam grew up on a healthy listening diet of the great singer songwriters from the 60's & 70s. Influences such as James Taylor, Billy Joel, Peter Gabriel, Elton John and Bob Dylan have helped shape Adam's appreciation for lyric and composition while spiritual artists like Keith Green and Kevin Prosch influenced Adam's message of redemption through the gospel of Jesus Christ. All influences aside, Adam's music has a distinctly unique quality that blends powerful and rich vocals, weighty lyrical content and simplistic yet melodic musical composition.

From a live perspective, Adam is given more to worship and spontaneity than to performance. Adam has a mystical approach to worship leading in which the Holy Spirit is allowed to inspire and direct the music to create a spiritually charged atmosphere that can reveal truth and release God's power and mercy to those engaged in worship through faith. In these moments a tangible intimacy can be experienced between Father God and his children for the purpose of healing, restoring and reviving our hearts in love for Jesus.

Adam and his wife Lindsey have three young children and pastor a worship arts community called the Big House Church in Norfolk, Virginia. Their mission is to inspire secular culture through artistic mediums to pursue faith, hope and love embodied in the person of Jesus Christ.
