K-Dub's Music
Daniel Carlton
Daniel Carlton is a 32-year-old male, born and raised in amarillo, texas. a piano technician by trade, he plays music in his spare time. daniel started taking piano lessons from his great-grandmother Granny around age 8; he and his sister would spend the night at Granny's house, often practicing for 3 and 4 hours at a time. unfortunately, he ended up quitting playing piano when he was 14, thinking he had better things to do.
when he was 16, daniel learned a few chords on the guitar, and the desire to create music returned. he started playing piano seriously again in his mid-twenties after going to school for piano tuning/technology in Massachusetts. he would often tune an instrument, then sit for 30 minutes or an hour fashioning miscellaneous little ditties. some of his favorite instruments are the decrepit, old pianos in dark, creaky churches where he frequently tunes.
daniel plays in a band called k-dub and the pop-a-wheelies. in particular, mr. carlton's own music has been influenced by artists such as spool/jhno, amon tobin, dj ammon, ravel, michael hedges, mouse on mars, radiohead, talk talk, but his musical interests include practically every genre. he and his wife and their two daughters live in texas. daniel enjoys skiing, reading mystery novels by the fire, and sharing romantic candlelit dinners with his wife.
