K-Dub

K-Dub & the Pop-A-Wheelies was an idea born out of the serious yet playful mind of men that have been on the receiving end of excessive grace - a grace that has allowed creativity to survive through some of the most exhausting spiritual and emotional experiences. In the mid-nineties, Kevin Wright tried to form several different bands with limited, if any, success. Then in 1996 he was introduced to Nick Leimback through some mutual friends who really thought they would be BFF!

They tried with their own steam to assemble a lineup, but something was always missing. Meanwhile, they helped out at their church, started families and businesses, and all but forgot about the music dream. Fast forward to 2008, and K-Dub is the living proof of let a dream fall to the ground and die, and it comes back to life in ways they couldn’t have imagined at the time.

By now, the band-mates were secure: Nick on bass, Jason Latham on drums. Kevin and Nick met Jason along the way when they were helping at their local church. Let’s just say he is a musical genius who ended up going to Berkley in Boston and immersing himself not only in drumming, but in recording engineering as well. Then there is Lincoln Youree on piano and Rhodes. Lincoln arrived just in time from Oklahoma by way of Australia…and boy are we glad he did! Daniel Carlton is the X-factor. K-Dub believes every band needs one of these; someone to make the sounds nobody thought to do (and to keep the pianos tuned). Kevin Wright on vocals, guitars, synths, and samples. And last but not least, the secret member of the pop-a-wheelies is Kevin Prosch, who moved to their humble cow town and built a world-class recording studio and became a great friend.

So now, after 12 years, The Reality moves into full effect. The Creator himself is the architect of this expedition. He has breathed on a collection of tunes that really were able to transcend the men who played them. Through a two-week period as the assault of physical, mental, and emotional sickness tried to infect the creative process – the Reality was able to be birthed - pushed through the amalgamated canal of worship and aural enjoyment. We hope you enjoy it as much as we liked making it. K-Dub
